During our visit to Black Hat Europe 2025 in London, Cybercrime Magazine had the opportunity to speak with Alex Zoldova, a Board Member of Women In Cybersecurity at Microsoft.
Zoldova shared her thoughts on the current state of women in cybersecurity, highlighting the importance of mentoring and the urgent need to expand STEM education opportunities for young people.
"It's a challenge to be a woman in cybersecurity, as we are not many," Zoldova remarked. "The real value lies in everyone doing a little to support one another. Whether it's volunteering, encouraging a shy female colleague to speak at an event, or mentoring other women, it would be amazing if we could all collaborate to help each other grow and succeed."
She also recounted two individuals she encountered at the event. "Today, I met a very impressive young woman who is just 25, and a 24-year-old male. It’s inspiring to see young people entering cybersecurity as their first job."
